Traditional Drum Shadeswere originally seen on table and floor lamps of the 1940's through the 1970's Drum shades reached their height of popularity in the 1970's when lamps made by the Stiffel Lamp Company in Chicago, Illinois featured them. They have recently made a big come-back in interior design, as renewed interest in the 1970's has popularized their use on new lamps done in a neo-retro style.
