These half shades are also called shield shades. They clip onto torpedo bulbs to diffuse light and dress up wall sconces. They were first introduced in the 1930's to reduce the glare of bare bulbs.

These sconce shades have torpedo bulb clip fitters. It is recommended to use a 25 watt bulb with any sconce shade.

	25 Watt Torpedo Bulbs Torpedo bulbs work best with our sconce shades. They sit straight on these bulbs and 25 watts is the proper wattage for their small size. We recommend this style of bulb for use with all of our sconce shades but please note: regardless of the type of bulb you use, we recommend that you do not go higher than 25 watts with any small shade.
