Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848 - 1933) pioneered the use of colored glass in American lighting. His name is now synonymous with this style of lighting, although very few are true Tiffany lamps, as they were originally marketed for wealthy clients even then. However, there were many other early manufacturers of high quality stained glass lamps: Kimberley & Duffner, Handel, Bigelow & Kennard to name a few; as well as hundreds more who produced similar lamps for the middle class. Almost all of the value of such lamps is in the shade with the intricacy and detail of the design significantly influencing the value, both then and now. Click HERE to find out about Slag Glass Lamps
